Lori-Ann Jones currently serves as a Superior Court Commissioner, presiding over a criminal courtroom in the Inglewood courthouse for nearly two years. She was elected Commissioner by the more than 400 judges in the Los Angeles Court system.

Prior to her election as a Commissioner, Jones served for over fifteen years as a Deputy District Attorney, prosecuting well over a hundred serious felony cases, including hard core gang prosecutions. She also prosecuted domestic violence, child abuse and arson cases.

Jones is well respected for her high ethical standards both on the bench and as a prosecutor.

A native of Los Angeles, Jones earned her law degree from McGeorge School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University. A single mother of a 10-year old, Jones believes that judges should reflect the diversity of our community and should have life experiences that mirror those of the parties before them.

Jones serves on the board of directors of the Tessie Cleveland Community Service Corporation, a family-centered mental health organization serving children from birth to 18 years. She is an active member of the Black Women Lawyers’ Assn. of Los Angeles, the California Judges Assn., the California Court Commissioners Assn. and the Langston Bar Assn.
